Upper School
Empowering for the Future
Shelton’s Upper School (grades 9 - 12) is a challenging, engaging and close-knit environment. Academic and extracurricular activities are geared to equip our soon-to-be graduates with lifelong skills that will serve them in college and the future.
School at Shelton is similar to any other school with extracurricular activities like fine arts and athletics, students clubs, volunteer opportunities and, of course, academics, including honor-level courses. What sets Shelton apart is that our teachers know how to teach the way our students learn. Reading programs and therapeutic instructional strategies aid students in courses affected by their learning differences, while elective and honors courses offer the opportunity to excel in areas of academic strength. Learning differences are not viewed as obstacles to overcome but opportunities to empower differently.
Shelton graduates are empowered - more than academically ready, they are citizens of the world. These bright students learn differently, and through a customized approach within an environment that offers all of the mainstream activities as any other school, Shelton students have the confidence and self-motivation to accomplish greatness.
