Michael "Mikey" Halperin Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Michael "Mikey" Halperin (Shelton Class of 2014) died at the age of 27 in June 2023. Mikey started at Shelton in 2003 and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 2014. He also was President of the National Honor Society and Math Club. In addition, he was All-District in soccer and track and All-State in cross country. During his senior year, he starred in Shelton's production of "The Man Who Came To Dinner." After graduation, Mikey attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, then left to pursue a career buying and selling rare comic books and other collectibles. He founded My Key Comics in 2018. He is survived by the Halperin family, including his parents, Jim and Gayle, his brother, Dave, his uncle, Stuart Ziaks, his girlfriend of eight years, Gabby Gaudette, three aunts and uncles and eight cousins.
