Shelton Remembers Kierstin Eaddy
In 2012, Kierstin Eaddy entered Shelton School as seventh grader, excited about the opportunities that awaited her.
In her two years at Shelton, Kierstin was outstanding, soaring both in academics and athletics. Not only did she successfully complete eighth grade with honors, maintaining an A average, Kierstin broke numerous track records. She even participated in the Junior Olympics national qualifier event in San Marcos, TX.
Kierstin also set an example for all. She won praise from both her teachers and peers, actively participated in Girl Scouts and volunteered with SpiritHorse, a not-for-profit organization where she donated many hours to help autistic children build skills and confidence.
At the final awards ceremony for eighth grade, Kierstin was recognized for her special qualities of integrity and compassion and was unanimously selected for the Spirit of Shelton Award. Several of her fellow students commented: “I have never seen such a positive person,” and “She is an awesome friend, honest and good.”
The entire Shelton community mourns the loss of such an exceptional young person who achieved so much in 14 years. For those who were privileged to know her, Kierstin will always bring to mind a beautiful, giving spirit, full of fun and talent. Her legacy will always include the exceptional standards by which she lived.
