Grandparents' Day FAQ

What time should grandparents arrive?
Valet parking will be open at 8:45 a.m.

Where do grandparents enter campus?
Grandparents have been assigned to Summerside (Silver/Gray) or McCallum (Blue) entrance and provided with a parking pass with their invitation. Grandparents who have forgotten or lost their pass may enter via either entrance. Accessible parking will be available via Summerside. 

We did not get an invitation, can we still come?
Yes!

Will I be able watch this event online?
Yes, we have online streams availableThe Main Gym program will be live streamed to the Black Box for any guests who prefer not to walk to the gym. The Black Box will also serve as overflow seating if needed.

We lost our nametags. What do we do?
There will be a check-in table at the Main Entrance and Fine Arts to get a replacement name tag.  
Check-in is NOT NECESSARY unless you need a nametag.

What should I do if I have more than one grandchild?
Grandparents can come both days, or the older student may attend the program in the younger sibling’s classroom.  

Where do we go first, the classroom or the gym?
The program will start at 9:30 a.m. in the gym. Classroom visit will follow. 

Will there be breakfast?
Coffee and pastries will be provided in the Main Gym and Black Box Theatre.

Can our grandchild go with us to the gym performance?
Sorry, no. There is not enough seating to accommodate students in the gym.

Can students leave with their grandparents or other relatives?
Students will be allowed to go home with their grandparent on Thursday and Friday with an approval letter or email from parent sent to their student's advisor.

Should my child come to school if they do not have any guests attending?
Yes, each student will have a role in their advisory presentation. If you choose for your student to stay at home, please let the advisor know. 

How should my child dress? 
Students wear proper uniforms with a neat appearance. Upper School students wear assembly attire (blazers) on Friday.

If a grandparent needs assistance, can a parent come with them?
Yes.

If grandparents are not able to attend, is it ok if other relatives or parents attend?
Yes.

What time is carpool for students who do not leave with their grandparents?
Thursday: Carpool is at the normal time. 

Friday: Early Release

  • 1st - 2nd Grade: 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided
  • 5th Grade: 12:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided
  • 6th - 8th Grade: 12:00 p.m. 
  • 9th - 12th Grade: 12:15 p.m.
