The Montessori Applied to Children at Risk (MACAR) Administrator Manual Book I explains the history and philosophy of the development of MACAR as well as a description of the curriculum.

This manual is an introduction to the first level of MACAR teacher training. All MACAR manuals are a compilation of Montessori lessons matched to characteristics of a child diagnosed with or at risk for learning differences. Each manual, written by teachers with many years of experience with at risk students, breaks the lesson into small steps, emphasizing oral language development. Tests and checklists are included for evaluating and observing behavioral and academic performance.
