The SEE Phoneme Deck contains 124 cards representing short vowels, long vowels, consonants, consonant digraphs, consonant blends, long vowel combinations, diphthongs, other vowel sounds, and silent letters.  

Each face card shows students the concept presented.  The back of each card provides the teacher with the connected letter name, letter sound and key word for the concept.   Many cards also contain additional information for the teacher.

The cards are color coded to support rapid visual discrimination between vowel and consonant concepts.  The colors align with Montessori instruction of vowels and consonant concepts and can be incorporated in direct instruction language lessons. 

Concepts are presented sequentially based on the order of frequency in the English language.  Repeated use of this deck supports sound-symbol correspondence. The SEE Phoneme Deck can be used for introduction, practice or review.
