September 22, 2021 OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT AND TOMORROW! During the Open House, you will follow your student's schedule, meet the teachers and learn more about the curriculum. In order to limit the number of people in classrooms and allow for social distancing, we encourage only one parent per student to attend in person. Masks will be required for everyone, and teachers have been asked to avoid shaking hands. Students do not attend. At-home parents will be able to view Open House via Google Meet (Upper Elementary, Middle School and Upper School) or via Zoom (LS). Teachers will provide the links. In addition, parents will be sent pre-recorded videos from UE language therapy teachers and Specials teachers from LS, UE and MS. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these efforts to keep everyone safe. Here's the schedule:

COVID QUARANTINE REMINDER If someone in your family is getting tested for COVID, your Shelton student should stay home until you get the results, according to Eve Herman, Shelton's Coordinator of Health Services. If the test is negative, your child can return to school. If someone in your family tests positive, all unvaccinated family members may not come to school and must quarantine. If your child is vaccinated, he/she does NOT need to quarantine if he/she is a close contact and is symptom free. If the close contact has symptoms, he/she should quarantine and get tested. If your child has been vaccinated and you have not already sent a copy of the vaccination card to Eve, please email her a copy at eherman@shelton.org. Contact her for more information. Find out more about Shelton's COVID policy and numbers here.

EMMET HALM: FROM SHELTON AND JESUIT TO HARVARD Emmet Halm, who attended Shelton, graduated from Jesuit in 2019 and now attends Harvard, founded Acceptitas, a college consulting program run by Harvard students. The program begins with a mentor matching process, pairing high school students with Harvard undergraduates who share similar backgrounds or experiences. Students and mentors work together to think of ideas for passion projects, meeting once a week for an hour. The mentor then helps create a business plan for implementation. Emmet is studying applied history with a focus on what the past can teach us about future issues. Read more about Emmet's project here.
