May 12, 2021 A MESSAGE FROM SUZANNE STELL
Last week we introduced you to our graduation speaker, Travis Hollman, and to our valedictorian and salutatorian. Today I want to introduce you to our Top Ten Students. On May 22nd each of these special students will wear a blue and white cord with their cap and gown. I am so proud to honor and recognize their accomplishments. Their perseverance and academic successes this year are truly remarkable.
COVID-19 DRIVE-THROUGH THIS FRIDAY AT SHELTON:
The FDA has authorized Pfizer's vaccine for children aged 12-15. The CDC's vaccine advisory committee (ACIP) met today to review efficacy data, and has now recommended usage of the vaccine for this age group. Therefore we are able to proceed with a vaccine clinic this Friday, May 14th from 2:45-6:45 pm.
Vaccines will be given to anyone 12 years of age and older. Due to the high level of interest in the vaccine clinic, we require that you schedule an appointment to get the vaccine. Please click here to go to a sign up genius to sign up for an appointment. To prevent a long wait, please come at your chosen time. Please do not show up before 2:40 as Upper El carpool will be finishing up.
The second vaccine will be offered here at Shelton on Friday, June 4th. If you/your child gets the vaccine on Friday and are unable to make the clinic on June 4th, please contact the Texas Allergy Center at 214-370-5700 to schedule an appointment for the 2nd dose.
Note: You must register with Texas Allergy Center AND sign up for a time via the Sign Up Genius. Both links are included in the information above.
MAYFEST WAS MAGICAL: VIEW AND ENJOY THE GALLERY PAGE
Opening ceremonies were marked with special performances and remarks. The rest of the day was organized with special activities for each division. Please take a look at our special gallery page to show you some of the action! The weather was spectacular, and everyone enjoyed grilled hamburgers for lunch. Also heard were the melodic strands of And there'll always be fun memories .... of our Shelton days." There's nothing so fun as a traditional celebration.
CALLING IN ALL LIBRARY BOOKS Friday, May 14th – ALL student library books need to be returned to the library. This includes all grade levels PP-11.
Sixth – 11th-grade students will not be able to participate in final exams unless all library books have been returned before exams.
Thanks for your help.
