November 12, 2019 - Tuesday HAPPENING TODAY Coffee with Cara Mendelsohn. Cara Mendelsohn is the Dallas City Council representative for District 12. Her district includes the current Shelton campus and the new Shelton campus. Ms. Mendelsohn is holding a series of coffees to discuss issues impacting District 12. Shelton is pleased to welcome Ms. Mendelsohn to the school TODAY-Tuesday for such a coffee. The coffee will take place in the Dining Hall from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. November 12, 2019 to November 29, 2019 SPA Food Truck - Chick-fil-A. The SPA announces the second of its food trucks on December 6, 2019 with Chick-fil-A! The Food Trucks will be at Shelton on December 6, 2019 (Chick-fil-A), March 27, 2020 (KONA Ice) and May 1, 2020 (Tikiz). The deadline for purchasing a ticket to the Chick-fil-A food truck is November 29, 2019. Cost is $10/ student for this Food Truck. Your best option is to buy your tickets NOW so you have all the Food Trucks covered for the remainder of the school year. November 22, 2019 - Friday VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Grandparents' Day. Everybody's favorite day at Shelton! We welcome grandparents and special friends to experience Shelton at its best. More information will be forthcoming - including mailed invitations to your guests. But - in the meanwhile - don't forget to pass a SAVE THE DATE to the grandparents and special friends of your students.
NEW! Stampede Raffle tickets will be sold at Grandparents' Day. The winner will receive a year's free tuition at Shelton. Ticket prices are $100/ ticket or $500 for six tickets. See advertisement for more information.

December 5, 2019 - Thursday Parents' Support Meeting. The focus of the discussion will be "Oral and Written Language". The support meeting is mandatory for all new parents, however, all parents are invited to attend. The meeting will be held in the Shelton Dining Hall at 7:00 pm. For parents only, there will be no childcare provided.
December 17, 2019 to December 20, 2019 Final Exams and Early Dismissals - In the final school week for 2019, students in US and MS will take final exams and all students will have early dismissal on Friday, December 20, 2019. Here's the schedule.
US Final Exams - December 17 to December 20, with dismissal at 11:45 am each day. MS Final Exams - December 18 to December 20, with dismissal at 12:05 pm each day. UE Early Dismissal - December 20 dismissal @ 11:15 am. LS Early Dismissal - December 20 dismissal @ 11:00 am.
March 28, 2020 - Saturday The Stampede. The premier event at Shelton that benefits the SPA and its various activities. The evening begins at 6:00 pm with cocktails, and continues to a seated dinner, a LIVE auction, a SILENT auction, live entertainment and a FUN time for all. The Stampede takes place at The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum and succeeds because an army of volunteers ensures that the evening flows seamlessly. December 12, 2019 - Thursday 8th Grade Moms' Holiday Event. A fun Holiday event for 8th grade Moms - to be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 @ 7:00 pm. The site is the home of Gretchen Seay, 4205 Lakeside Drive, Dallas 75205. Each guest is asked to bring a gift for the gift exchange (maximum value = $25). Volunteers will be selling Stampede Raffle tickets at Grandparents' Day.
Tickets are $100 for one ticket or $500 for a six pack. Ticket sales will not exceed 1,000 tickets.

#1 Volunteer for the CHARGER CORRAL
We need volunteers to work in the Charger Corral school spirit store! The Corral depends on its volunteers to be successful. Working in the Corral is easy, fun and it's a great way to become acquainted with other parents, the students, and the Shelton staff.
The Corral is open 8:00 am - 9:00 am Monday through Friday and 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday when school is in session.

The Shelton Parents' Association succeeds because of the work of our invaluable parent volunteers.
