October 15, 2019 - Tuesday BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION - THE COLLECTION CONTINUES COLLECTION CONTINUES! We need your Box Tops for Education! If you have box tops that you have clipped and saved - NOW is the time to return. REMEMBER: Shelton receives 10 cents for each Box Top. There is a collection box in the Hillcrest Lobby. Place your Box Tops in a ZIPLOC bag and deposit them in the collection box. This collection continues through October 24, 2019. THANK YOU!
October 16, 2019 - Wednesday HAPPENS THIS WEEK - NEED TO REGISTER Shelton Junior Charger Cheer & Dance Camp. Shelton Junior Charger Cheer & Dance Camp @ 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm in the Shelton Dining Hall and Gym. The Cheer & Dance Camp is for ages 5-14 (PP to grade 8). Parents should arrive at 5:15 pm to observe the "Show-Off" and pick-up their students. Participants will have the opportunity to perform during the half-time of the Shelton Chargers football game on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at The Ford Center at the STAR in Frisco. Cost for the Camp is $50/ student if you register on or before Tuesday, October 15, 2019 ($60/ student for payment on the day of clinic). October 18, 2019 - Friday RSVP PLEASE Stampede Kick-Off Party - Begins at 7:00 pm. For ALL Shelton parents, please join in the excitement at the official kick-off party for the Stampede. Mingle with your fellow parents and enjoy cocktails and bites. The theme and logo for the Stampede and Auction 2020 will be revealed. The party is graciously hosted by Angela Wommack and Ted Casey at their lovely home at 1 Abbey Woods, Dallas 75248. Renee and Scott Jansen with Goody Goody are also sponsors. October 19, 2019 - Saturday NEW INFORMATION Football - The Shelton Chargers at The Ford Center at the STAR - The Shelton Chargers move north for a game against Grace Prep at the STAR. The game begins at 7:00 pm. The address is 9 Cowboys Way, Frisco 75034. Shelton students, faculty and staff enter free but will need a ticket. Other guests (including parents) are $10/ person. This is NOT a tailgate, so there will be no food trucks. But, there are many restaurants in the STAR district. Please click here for information regarding parking, food options, ticket purchase, and other information. Online ticketing must be completed by Thursday morning, October 17, 2019. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office (CASH only), which opens at 6:00 pm prior to the game. GO CHARGERS!
October 18 to 25, 2019 - Friday to Friday NEW INFORMATION The Book Fair Opens. The Annual Book Fair at Shelton benefits the school's libraries and celebrates our wonderful librarians! The Book Fair opens on Friday (October 18) at 8:00 am and runs through Friday (October 25) at 1:00 pm. The location is the 1st floor library. Do you want to shop early or avoid the crowds at Book Fair? Then you are a candidate for ONLINE SHOPPING! Please click here and you will be able to shop online and benefit Shelton all at the same time - online shopping is available beginning October 13, 2019 and ends on October 26, 2019. The adult can bring lunch to school unless the adult has completed a registration form for pizza/water at the school. Other than pizza/water via the registration form, lunch will not be available for sale. No student will be released for lunch unless the registration form has been timely submitted. For EC to 2nd grade, books & bagels does not require advance registration and it's FREE. Note: we need many volunteers to coordinate Lunches and Books & Bagels; if you can assist, please click here. October 23, 24 and 26, 2019 - Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday The Fall Play - Meet Me in St. Louis. The Theatre Arts at Shelton bring to the stage its fall play, Meet Me in St. Louis. The play is a fun and heart-warming production centered around the Smith Family and the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. Tickets are now available for purchase - $10/ adult, $5/ student. November 7, 2019 - Thursday NEW INFORMATION Parents' Support Meeting. The discussion will be "Social Skills/ Organization and Study Skills". This support meeting is mandatory for all new parents; however, all parents are invited to attend. The meeting will be held in the Shelton Dining Hall at 7:00 pm. For parents only, there will be no childcare provided.
November 22, 2019 - Friday Grandparents' Day. Everybody's favorite day at Shelton! We welcome grandparents and special friends to experience Shelton at its best. More information will be forthcoming - including mailed invitations to your guests. But - in the meanwhile - don't forget to pass a SAVE THE DATE to the grandparents and special friends of your students. REMEMBER! There is early dismissal on Grandparents' Day. March 28, 2020 - Saturday The Stampede. The premier event at Shelton that benefits the SPA and its various activities. The evening begins at 6:00 pm with cocktails, and continues to a seated dinner, a LIVE auction, a SILENT auction, live entertainment and a FUN time for all. The Stampede takes place at The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum and succeeds because an army of volunteers ensures that the evening flows seamlessly. We have the following opportunities for volunteers:
#1 Volunteer for the CHARGER CORRAL
We need volunteers to work in the Charger Corral school spirit store! The Corral depends on its volunteers to be successful. Working in the Corral is easy, fun and it's a great way to become acquainted with other parents, the students, and the Shelton staff.
The Corral is open 8:00 am - 9:00 am Monday through Friday and 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday when school is in session.

The Shelton Parents' Association succeeds because of the work of our invaluable parent volunteers.

Meet Me in St. Louis
The year is 1904 and it's an exciting time for the Smith family. Four attractive sisters are all blazing with excitement over the wonderful World's Fair that is about to open right there in St. Louis, Missouri. But just then Father arrives home with his big announcement: He's been offered a better job in New York! This will mean leaving their home in St. Louis and missing the fair! At this, the girls unite for action to stay in St. Louis for the fair. This show is filled with laughter, fun and heart-warming relationships!
