GRANDPARENTS' DAY

EARLY RELEASE PERMISSION NEEDED

We are thankful for our grandparents, and we look forward to one of our favorite events of the year - Grandparents' (or grand friends) Day on Nov. 16th. It's the day when we throw a party for nearly 1,000 guests!  Students may leave campus early with their grandparents, but they must have written permission.  Print this up and send the permission.

PODCAST - PART II

Earlier this fall we sent you a podcast featuring Don and Christian Valade (sophomore). They were in Denmark on August 29th for Scuttling of the Fleet Day.  Please enjoy listening to the rest of the story!  It was a great history lesson for Christian.  Pictured here is faculty member Hunter Duesing interviewing the father and son about the origins of this national holiday and Christians' great grandfather's role in it.

And stay tuned ... we have a lineup of other podcasts in the making!

LAST CALL - HELP FILL GOODIE BAGS FOR GRANDPARENTS' DAY

Add to the pleasure of some 900 grandparents and special friends when they visit for Grandparents' Day on Fri., Nov. 16th.  Here's a great way to advertise your business and help us at the same time!

If your business has any promotional / gift items (pens, pads, key chains, coupons, etc.), we'd love to include them in our goodie bags!

Bring your items to Shelton's Development Office through Monday, Nov. 12th.  Questions?  Call Theresa Bruno at (972) 774-1772 Ext. 2230 or Carol Scalzo at Ext. 2256.

POST-ELECTION ETIQUETTE
Today we will have election race winners and losers. We have a choice on whether or not to be a good sport or a bad sport about the results. Here's a video that might come in handy as we think about our attitudes and our comments in front of others. It's how to be a good sport, as told by children.
