SAY BOO TO THE FLU! It's flu season! Our school nurses remind you to please use the Kinsa app and sign up for our school group so we can keep each other informed about what's going around. HEAR KEN WILGUS THURSDAY AT SHELTON'S PARENT SUPPORT MEETING You'll enjoy hearing Dr. Kenneth Wilgus this Thursday night, 7:00 pm in the Dining Hall. Dr. Wilgus is a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of adolescents and their families. He has been a popular Shelton guest several times in the recent past. He is the author of Feeding the Mouth that Bites You. His topic will be Raising Social Kids in the Age of Isolation. This free meeting is mandatory for all new Shelton parents but open to all Shelton parents. For parents only, no childcare will be provided.
HELP FILL GOODIE BAGS FOR GRANDPARENTS' DAY Add to the pleasure of some 900 grandparents and special friends when they visit for Grandparents' Day on Fri., Nov. 16th. Here's a great way to advertise your business and help us at the same time!

TECHNOLOGY ROUND TABLE EVENT PRESENTED BY STANDUP LD Tuesday, November 13, 7:00 pm, Dining Hall
Shelton will host StandUPLD's technology and resource roundtable event for students, parents, and classroom teachers. You will have the opportunity to rotate through tables representing the latest in technology and advocacy resources for students with learning differences. This is a unique opportunity to see technology demonstrated and to ask questions. Topics and demonstrations for the evening include:
Gain an overview of the various free and subscription services available for students to gain access to textbooks and chapter books. Learning Ally, Bookshare, and Audible with WhisperSync will be featured.
Come to see the latest technology for helping your students with dysgraphia or written expression disorders. The Co-Writer Universal features not only word prediction, but grammar prediction, translation for invented spelling and a Neuron prediction engine which can predict the relationship between concepts to free the writing process for students who struggle with the development of their writing.
