DEADLINE! SPA Food Truck. The SPA kicks-off the first of its Food Trucks on October 4, 2018 with Kona Ice. After Kona Ice the next Food Trucks will be December 7, 2018 (Chick-fil-A), March 22, 2019 (Susie Cakes) and May 3, 2019 (Tikiz). Volleyball and Cross Country Senior Night and Shelton Tailgate Party - At Shelton, for ALL students and parents! Tailgate is from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Pre-Game Ceremony at 6:15 pm, with game at 6:30 pm. FUN with face painting and music. Food will be available for purchase - Chick-fil-A, Tikiz, and Triple-Ts Popcorn.
October 4, 2018 - Thursday
Parent Support Meeting - 7:00 pm in the Shelton Dining Hall - SIMULATIONS OF LEARNING DIFFERENCES. This meeting is mandatory for all new Shelton parents; however, it is open to all Shelton parents. The program is delivered by several Shelton staff members. The focus of the meeting is to better appreciate how some of our students have experienced school in the past. No childcare will be provided.

BOOSTERTHON PEP RALLY - For grades EC through 5th - the Boosterthon Pep Rally kicks-off! This year we introduce a new program "MindSpark Mystery Lab". This is a science-infused mystery theme all about solving problems. Boosterthon begins with the Pep Rally and concludes with the FUN RUN on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 (parents are welcome to attend the Fun Run). All funds raised go to the Shelton Scholarship Fund. Dads' Group Poker Tournament – The 2nd annual Dads' Group Poker Tournament will be held at Cawley Real Estate Investors' newest office development at 14555 Dallas Parkway, Dallas 75254. Dealers start @ 7:30 pm. Limited to 150 people. Full bar and buffet. Players are $100/ person, non-players are $50/ person (includes bar and buffet). Buy-ins available. Registration is required for grades 3 to 6; your student will not be released from his/her classroom for lunch unless the registration form is submitted. Any special adult is welcome to attend lunch with his/her Shelton student. Adult can bring lunch to school or purchase pizza/water via the registration form. Pizza is $3.00/ slice and water is $1.00/ bottle. Other than pizza/water via the registration form, lunch will not be available for sale. For the registration form, please click here. The Book Fair Opens - The Annual Book Fair at Shelton benefits the school's libraries and celebrates our wonderful librarians! The Book Fair opens on Friday (October 19) at 8:00 am and runs through Friday (October 26) at 1:00 pm. The location is the 1st floor library.

The Fall Play - Shelton Theatre Arts present Radium Girls - The story: In 1926 radium is a miracle cure - but is it? Radium Girls is a dramatic production of D.W. Gregory's book about women working with radium and their fight for justice when sickness and death follow. National Public Radio writes in its review "the glowing ghosts of the radium girls haunt us still". A must see! For ages 12 and above, please. Tickets are $10/ adult and $5/ student. October 24, 2018 - Wednesday - Early dismissal for grades 5 to 12 - grade 5 @ 11:30 am; grades 6 to 8 @ Noon; and grades 9 to 12 @ 12:30 pm. Regular dismissal for EC to grade 4.
October 25, 2018 - Thursday - No school.

Princess Ball - Shelton girls in grades EC through 5th (and their sisters) are invited to the Princess Ball at Winter Wonderland with their fathers (or brother, uncle, special friend). The evening's festivities at Shelton School (beginning @ 5:30 pm) will include a seated dinner, DJ and dancing and a photo opportunity. The dinner menu will include gluten-free and Kosher options. Box Tops for Education - Collection Continues!
It is time to bundle your Box Tops for Education. We gather the Box Tops and turn them in for a cash reward. Please group 10 or 20 (or more) Box Tops and seal them in a Ziplock or an envelope. Or, tape/paste the Box Tops to a collection sheet - click here. Please deposit your Box Tops in the collection boxes at the LS or UE entrances. Remember - our deadline for turn-in is October 31, 2018! Questions: click here. We will have a similar collection in the spring 2019 - so continue to save your Box Tops for Education - the next collection is February 2019.

Mums are $59 to $76 and garters are $46 to $59. Remember: seniors are white/silver and grades 11, 10 and 9 are royal blue/black. Options are available to personalize the order. The Upper School Homecoming Dance - To be held at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Bank of America Room, Richardson, TX 75082. The dance is from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Tickets are $40/ student and must be purchased by Noon on October 5, 2018. No tickets will be sold at the door. To purchase tickets, please click here. Parents are responsible for picking up their students at the Eisemann Center after the dance.
9th Grade Homecoming Dinner @ Northwood Country Club, 6524 Alpha Road, Dallas 75240 - 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. This is an optional FUN group event for those in 9th grade only; dates are welcomed but not necessary. Cost is $60/ student. Dinner Theme & Dress: The Great Gatsby - Boys (jacket/tie, khaki pants) and Girls (Party dress). Parents must bring students to the Northwood Country Club for dinner; Shelton will provide transportation from the Northwood Country Club to the Upper School Homecoming Dance. Students will be picked-up by parents at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson at 11:00 pm (at the conclusion of the Upper School Homecoming Dance.) STAMPEDE VOLUNTEERS
The Shelton Stampede Committee has TWO important opportunities for volunteers.
Big Board Chairperson – The Big Board auction occurs during the Stampede Fundraiser (March 30th) where parents bid on displayed items via iPad/cell phone. The Big Board Chair works with past Big Board auction donors to secure donations and creates new relationships with potential donors to secure new Big Board donations.
Live Auction Chairperson – The Live Auction occurs during the Stampede Fundraiser (March 30th) where parents bid on items in real-time and as presented by a professional auctioneer. The Live Auction Chair works with past Live Auction donors to secure donations and creates new relationships with potential donors to secure new Live Auction donations.
Join our team and meet new parents, interact with Shelton's staff, learn more about one of Shelton's largest fundraisers, and share your ideas. If you are interested in learning more about one of these positions, please click here.
