Sharing Our Experience
With one out of seven Americans having some type of learning disability, the need for effective teaching strategies and a pedagogy for LD education is daunting! Early on, Shelton realized that it could not possibly respond individually to all those seeking help for learning differences. The Shelton community has always had a desire to help more than its own student body. After many years of local community service in the Dallas and Fort Worth area, Shelton defined and officially launched its formal Training Program in 1991.
Today Shelton helps students well beyond its own campus. Shelton offers an extensive Training Program that provides programs, classes, and materials that educate and inform. These materials are designed for multiple audiences ranging from parents wanting to learn more about LD, teachers that need hand-on expertise in dealing with specific LD challenges, to education professionals developing LD curriculums for their schools.
The Shelton Training department offers services through:
- Training for educators, parents, and the community
- Materials for purchase
Training Opportunities include:
- Topics that relate to the individual with learning differences
