Evidence Based Programs
To ensure the greatest possible path to success, each student is given a full battery of testing prior to admission to the Shelton School. These tests range from comprehensive testing for students wishing to enroll in the Shelton School to a smaller and more targeted tests for students entering the Shelton Scholars Program. Additionally, this testing gives the School a benchmark for the current status of all students being tested.
Upon acceptance, all students are slated for one of Shelton’s five language programs: Alphabetic Phonics, Sequential English Education, Shelton Academic Language Approach, Shelton Adolescent Reading Approach, or The Association Method. A specific program is prescribed to meet the individual student's needs and allow for significant remediation. Pre and Post testing on each child takes place yearly to measure progress and insure the student is progressing toward long-term success. The specific progress of the student as well as the overall progress of the program is monitored, tracked and subjected to further query.
