Event Recap: The track & field teams competed at the regional meet on Thursday. The girls team finished 9th out of 20 teams and the boys team was 4th out of 20 teams. every Shelton athlete scored in the meet. State qualifiers for the girls are Tori Walters in the high jump, Ashleigh Price in the pole vault and Maggie Thomas in the 100 hurdles. Brittany Baca and Kathryn Edel just missed qualifying for the state meet by one place.
State qualifiers for the boys are Phillip Bouillion in the discus, Conner Novotny in shot put, Ian King in triple jump, Tanner Owens in the 4X100 relay, 4X200 relay and the 200, Ian Bonnick in the 4X100 relay, Cody Cunningham in the 4X100 relay, Ben Leudtke in the 4X100 relay, 100 and 4X200 relay. Rich Morton in the 4X200 relay, Trey McDowell in the 4X200 relay and Alec Viracola in the 300 hurdles. Taylor Aspinwall and the 4X400 relay just missed qualifying by one place. The athletes also set 7 new school records at the meet. |
