Athlete Physicals Given at Shelton on Mon, May 9 and Tues, May 10

The Charger Sports Medicine team will again be providing an opportunity for any Shelton student currently in grades 5-11, who plans on participating in athletics next year, to get their required physical done on the Shelton School campus! On May 9th and 10th, we will be hosting our third annual Charger Sports Medicine mass physicals. Boys will be done on Monday, May 9 and the girls will follow on Tuesday May 10. The physicals will be given between 5:00 and 7:00pm. The last athlete will be taken at 6:45pm. No appointment is necessary. All physicals will start in the Shelton School gym.

The cost of the physicals is $20 and all proceeds support the Charger Sports Medicine Athletic Training Program. Checks should be made payable to "Shelton Athletics." If you haven't already made other accommodations, please come out and support the Charger Athletic Training program by getting your sports physicals completed here on campus.

- This is open to current 5th graders through 11th graders who will be participating in Shelton Athletics next year.
- Boys on Monday, May 4 and Girls on Tuesday, May 5. Come anytime between 5:00 and 7:00pm. Last athlete will be taken at 6:45pm. No appointment necessary. Cost is $20
- For all athletes under the age of 18, a parent is required to be present.

Registration for Concussion ImPACT Testing

ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a validated computerized concussion evaluation system. The test assists in tracking recovery of cognitive processes after an athlete receives a head injury. The test helps us establish the athlete's normal cognitive functioning that can be later used to compare to post-concussion testing.

All Shelton athletes are required to take the ImPACT baseline testing. To be in compliance with the Shelton Charger Athletic Handbook,  athletes in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grades for the 2016-2017 school year must take the test, even if they were tested during 2015-2016 school year. This testing is also for athletes in other grades who are new to Shelton athletics or new to Shelton and has not ever had the testing.

For on-campus testing:

On-campus testing will take place on the following dates for the 2016-2017 school year (click on the date you want to register your child):

Monday, May 16; Wednesday, May 18; Tuesday, July 19; and Wednesday, July 20

If you are not able to make any of these days, then you will need to go to one of the off-campus concussion centers (see below).

During the summer is the best time to get this done!!!!! Again, you will not be eligible to practice until this has been done.

Click here to download and print the ImPACT worksheet. This is required at the time the test is taken (this form should be completed by a parent).

For off-campus testing:
