I just wanted to tell you how much my daughters enjoyed Shelton’s Summer Program.  My girls were both enrolled in the Organization & Study Skills and Math Foundations classes.  I can't tell you how helpful these classes were for them.  As a parent, I was extremely impressed and appreciative of the thorough feedback and observations from both their teachers. When the classes first started, I couldn't believe all the detailed information I received on suggested areas of improvement. All of the observations were right on target, and I was given a thorough review of the course materials that will help in the fall.  I also received follow-up information and referrals to educational websites that we will use for practice during the remainder of the summer.  The organizational binder was just awesome!  These are skill-builders that will serve my daughters well as they enter Middle School this year.  Thank you for the consistent feedback, attention to detail, and thoughtful and considerate educational instruction that my children received in your summer program.

Enclosed, please find our annual gift on behalf of our daughter.  We have cut back in many areas to accommodate the needs of our children, but we wanted to give to the annual fund to demonstrate that we deeply appreciate Shelton.  I can honestly say, without exaggeration, that Shelton is the best thing that has ever happened to our daughter or our family.  She is extremely bright and for years worked very hard to prove herself in the public school system.  By fourth grade she was literally pulling out her hair.  By fifth grade she had no self-esteem and was beginning to show signs of depression.  We spent every minute and every dollar trying to help her … but it wasn’t until she arrived at Shelton for sixth grade that the signs of depression started to disappear, and the girl we knew at a younger age started to re-emerge.  It is highly likely that Shelton saved her life, or at a very minimum, changed its course.  We are so deeply grateful.

If I could do anything in the world I would ….
I wouldn’t change as thing.  Shelton has made my life as perfect as a nine-year-old’s life can be.  I have already fulfilled my dream – I am overcoming my learning difference, and now, someday, I hope to be a Montessori teacher.

Since we moved from Dallas, our son has had to adjust to new educational programs all over again.  But, after pleading to have our son placed in the dyslexia program in San Antonio, he was accepted.  His teacher tells us our son is the most organized student in the class (that credit goes to Shelton!)  And, he is so far ahead of the third-graders in his class, he has been bumped up to the fourth grade program in writing.  All of this is to say thank you for the amazing foundation you gave our son.  Your class is where he really began to make progress.  And he has never looked back.  Thank you for believing in him and giving him the encouragement and skills to succeed.  We are forever grateful.
