Learning Differences Information

Shelton is committed to providing support to parents, family members, teachers, and caregivers of children whether or not they attend Shelton School.  Discovering or suspecting that your child may have a learning difference can be an overwhelming experience.  Shelton has gathered materials meant to help meet our goal and provide information to those close to the student in order to benefit the student in reaching their full potential.

If your child is experiencing difficulties in school, but has not been diagnosed, we encourage you to seek testing through our Evaluation Center.  At that point, you may choose to look into admission if it is found that Shelton's program would best serve your child or the Evaluation Center will give you referrals for services that will best meet your child's needs.

If your child has a diagnosed learning difference or you feel that your student might benefit from the program at Shelton, visit our Admissions area to learn more about our school and to begin the admissons process.

We have provided several helpful articles a parent support section, and a list of resources (books, media, organizations, links, and presentations) to help you get started right away.  In addition, a list informational training opportunities for parents, families, and caregivers is listed below.  Teachers will also find this information valuable and can also find more information for the professional in our Training Center.
