and The People that Surround Them
Shelton is the largest private school for students with learning differences in the world. As a national resource center, Shelton provides
as much information as possible for the individual, their parents,
teachers, doctors, therapists, co-workers, supervisors, etc. Much of
this information is made available through our website via the links to
the left.
The Language, Speech Hearing Clinic
The Clinic provides services for adults and children both on and off
campus through individual and small group programs. They also offer
in-depth speech and language evaluations, speech, language, hearing and
vision screenings, and staff development.
The Evaluation Center
Assessment services for the comprehensive evaluation and referral of
children, youth and adults keep our Evaluation Center busy. They also
offer consultation to parents, professionals, and school personnel.
The Outreach Center
The Outreach Center has many programs for students, parents and
teachers outside of Shelton's own student body and campus. Scholars is
an intensive tutoring program for ages six to adult. Summer School
offers a broad range of academic and enrichment courses. Teacher
Training is offered to public and private school teachers related to
teaching LD Students. Collaborative programs with colleges and
universities offer credit courses, some on the Shelton Campus. Their
outreach extends further through presentations at conferences,
workshops, and videotape training series.
