"Thank you so much for allowing me to work for Shelton this summer!  I had such an amazing experience and learned so much through working with a wonderful mentor.  The whole experience really opened my eyes to what I could do with my future.  Hopefully I will be able to spend more time at Shelton in the future."
~ from a Summer School instructor

Thank you for visiting Shelton's Human Resources web page. Throughout the year we have job opportunities for teaching, administrative and staff positions. They will be posted in the Career Opportunities section (available to the left) as they become available. Shelton is a great place to work, with competitive benefits, the best simply working at Shelton!

Over 170 teachers comprise the heart of Shelton's instructional community, contributing to the nurturing atmosphere at school.  Some 48 per cent have advanced degrees.  They have an average of 14.7 years' teaching experience.  While other staff members' jobs are outside the classroom, they are never far removed from interaction with students. Aides, therapists, diagnosticians and administrators alike are in place to support teachers as they deliver the finest educational programming possible.

Shelton is more than a school, however.  Other staff work in our

  • Speech / Language / Hearing Clinic
  • Evaluation Center
  • Outreach Center

Together, some 260 employees collaborate to make Shelton a national resource center in the field of learning differences. When we add to the team, we seek people who set a high standard of professional and personal excellence.
