TEXAS DYSLEXIA AWARENESS DAY IN AUSTIN
We learned last week of a special event taking place in Austin this week.  On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, a Resolution will be read in observation of Dyslexia Awareness Day in Texas. Shelton was invited to participate as a sponsor, and faculty member G-g Shryer will attend the reading as our representative.   Attendees will wear the color PURPLE as they stand together for the reading of Resolution 50 at the State Capital.

Events:
9:30 am       Gathering in the Capitol Rotunda
10:00 am      Reading of the Resolution in the House Chamber
11:00 am      Recognition in the Senate Chamber
11:00 am      Dyslexia Resources available in Senate Conferece Room # E1.020

We can show our support by wearing PURPLE this Wednesday, joining others passionate about dyslexia and celebrating Dyslexia Awareness Day at the State Capital in Austin.  Christine Chien, assistive technology specialist who has worked with us at Shelton, is involved with the organization of the event, as are Shelton parents Eric and Heather McGehearty. Shelton's name is included in the "wordie" of Together Texas Strong.
